Warehouse Supervisor

Job Summary

Direct the activities of warehouse personnel involved in the receiving of various products into the facility, movements of product within the facility, organize the warehouse and the picking and loading of product shipping out of the facility; ensures that all policies and procedures are followed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise all shipping, receiving and warehouse activities performed by warehouse crew; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees on warehouse floor throughout the shift.
  • Establish and maintain department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Review, prioritize, and organize all orders to be picked and/or shipping during shift.
  • Manage all receiving and shipping office paper flow.
  • Forecast crewing needs to meet peak demands of the business and staff team accordingly; train, motivate, coach, reward, and discipline crew being supervised; resolve personnel issues.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Operations and Logistics Supervisor to manage personnel issues including but not limited to vacation approvals, time card approval, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.
  • Lead crew by example by loading trucks and/or performing other duties as necessary.
  • Perform required administrative tasks; prepare required reports and correspondence.
  • Assist with inventory activities; supervise inventory control process including but not limited to check-in/check-out, settlement, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain the warehouse, keep orderly and clean.
  • Properly rotate product in cooler.

Qualifications

  • Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
  • Strong inventory control skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations best practices.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Continually required to stand.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Continual exposure to extreme cold (non-weather).

Compensation & Benefits

  • $55,000 – $65,000 annually, based on experience
